We are Pureism. Inspired by the simplicity and purity of 精進料理 (shōjin ryōri) we aim to showcase and celebrate seasonal produce and offer organic Japanese vegan-friendly food based on Buddhist Zen principles. Having initially received training here in the UK, We have also spent the last three months training in Japan under the guidance of head temple cooks in Shizuoka and Tokyo, in addition to cooking in the kitchens of Koya-san. This has allowed us to deepen our understanding of the cuisine. We share a passion for healthy, nutritious food that is cooked with integrity and respect.
We are mindful of our impact on the environment, and want our events to be as sensitive as they can be to the environment. We are always trying to find sustainable and ethical ways to source items for our event, from the produce, to the way in which we promote the events.
